FAQ - Frequent Asked Questions

1. How is a translation charged?
In translation, the price is usually calculated by source word, that is to say, the number of words in the original text determines the final cost. Factors such as complexity  and short deadlines also influence the price. Urgent translations may incur in a 30% surcharge.

2. What is considered a normal deadline for a translation?
Translations of up to 3,000 words have a 48 hours delivery time, while those up to 10,000 words have a 1 week delivery time. The ones above 10,000 words should be arranged on an individual basis. A very specialized vocabulary requires additional research time on the subject.

3. How is proofreading charged?
Proofreading is also charged by word. If you opt for the Advanced Proofreading, there will be a 30% surcharge. Urgent proofreading has a 30% surcharge.

4. How is the interpreting service charged?
The interpreting service is charged by the hour, plus traveling and accommodation expenses, according to the case.

5. What is the payment method accepted by TranslatiOnTime?
In general, we require 50% payment on hiring of services and the remainer upon receipt of the services. Payments can be done through a bank transfer or via PayPal.

6. In which format can the texts be sent or delivered?
In general, we use MS Office’s standard formats, especially the “.doc” format. However, on request we can work with texts in different formats.

7. Do you use any CAT - Computer Aided Translation?
Yes, we do. We use Wordfast, although we always apply at least one final human proofreading to assure the quality of  work.

8. How does TranslatiOnTime deal with confidentiality and security?
We consider those extremely important matters and give them careful attention. Only the people directly involved with the work have access to its content and to the client’s name. Firewall, backups, antivirus tools and procedures are maintained updated and working at all times. A Responsibility Term may be supplied under request.

9. Is there any kind of contract?
